What is the best method to test a 4 amp RCA sub output from my car stereo. I want to confirm there is an audio signal without using a speaker. Should I use a multimeter? Thanks!

LOL, I wish. No, I meant the RCA jack has an output of 4 amps.

Multimeter it is.
