i bought my wife an escalade for christmas so the auto trany is out for this year. but on a good note i am ready to get this car done. it will get my tremec tko. i just ordered some parts so you will see some new pics soon.
i need to know what lb injectors to go with. 30? 36? 42?
the car will have a 347 stroker (i think it is 10.5 to 1 i will find out tomorrow) is going in with a p-1c Procharger kit with only 6 pounds of boost, a1000 fuel pump, meth kit, 100 wet shot of juice that will only be hit a few times at the track if ever.
Is that a D1 or a p1sc ? If it's a D1 and your running a stock block .... good luck ! Because that blower will make way more power than the block will take . Also I see why you want to go auto , but thats more for drag racing in my opinion . If your building an all purpose car then I would go with a stick . You will put more power to the wheels .... plus less weight and alot more durable ( if you can shift correctly LOL ) and the fun factor goes up by "10" !! You see with an auto your car will be limited to that tranny set up . With a stick you can find where the car likes to be driven ( rpm,s , power curv etc. ) Basicaly if the torque converter and shift points don't mesh with the way your motor runs then it will be a slug . You have to consider cam size , power curve , compression ratio, power adder, gearing etc, etc.
With that compression I would go with a 60#. They will allow you to grow if you want to, like switching to a D1 head unit or spinning the P1 more. A 42 won't get you out of the 400's for power. 60's will and have more left in them.
the car will have a 347 stroker 10.5 to 1 compression, Ported Windsor Senior Heads, ported cobra intake, o ringed block, arp head stud kit, comp cam i think around ? 555/565 spilt duration 236/242? i will find out what the cam is for shore tomorrow and it is a p-1c Procharger kit with only 5 pounds of boost, a1000 fuel pump and rail kit, meth kit, it will get a 100 wet shot a few times maybe. i will be running my tremec tko for this year.
so with that said what lb injectors should i go with. will 42 be way to small? 48? will 60 be to much? thanks for you insight

Interesting .... 10.5 comp and a blower and nitrous with I'm assuming a stock block . First... thats too much compression for a blower set up . It might be alright if you run high octane race fuel , but that can be expensive . Second ...if you do the blower with high compression you will most likley be around the 480 to 500 rwhp mark . A production block will not take much more than 500 rwhp so the additional 100 shot will be like pulling the pin on a grenade . third... Methanol sucks in my opinion . I have used it and blew two engines using it . You have to tune for it to work . Which means you run less fuel and more timing than you really should . So if for some reason it doesn't turn on ( pump goes bad , electronics fail , ETC ) then the motor will get hurt . It's just not worth the extra 30 horse to gamble a perfectly good engine.
If your going to run the 10.5 comp. then just use the nitrous and ditch the blower. It will be perfect for that set up . If you run less comp. say 9.5 ... then the blower will be good on pump gas . Also there are duty cycle charts charts for injectors on the net . They will give you the horse power rating for each size inj. and wether or not it is naturaly asperated or forced induction . If you reach more than 80% duty cycle at full tilt then you need to go to the next size inj.
well..... the motor is starting to come together. i need to pick out some valve covers and ??? to dress it up. i will have no water pump, power steering or smog pulley, so i am wondering if i will need a delete kit or will a smaller belt just fit right on there?
scrib: the car has a tubular manual rack in it notchback: water pump is electric it is hanging on the motor in the 2nd and 3rd pic. flamingpony: i have a 93 block 89 painless wiring kit in there so i don't know if i will need the smog delete or not
thanks. i was at mustangs unlimited this morning getting some of the last parts. i didn't even know they moved, when did that happen? it has been an all mustang day i have been to 15 different places looking for the last few things and getting supplies. i just got back home it's 1:00am. no pics today but a lot got done.
and those are 30lb injectors. i know there the wrong color but they say 30 and they where flow tested. there is a few things i will need to upgrade after the car is running but for now it must just go together. i will post some more pics tomorrow.
