need a mechanics opinion.
winterized this motor-- its a 4 stroke 20hp yamaha only a couple years old. when i winterized it, it had had gummed up carbs from the ethanol. i had cleaned them once last summer already but going into winter i couldnt get it to run (and therefore couldnt winterize it right) so i pulled off everything from the intake manifold back (carb etc) and cleaned the hell out of it all. there was 0 fuel in the engine over the winter
btw, this is a pull start (and in my opinion way to big to be a pull start) and has an automatic choke (not sure how that works when there is no battery... i think this is the problem)
so i go to pull it with fresh gas hooked up this afternoon. cranks like it wants to go, but doesnt.
shot a little carb cleaner down the intake, starts first pull and ran for probably 45 minutes in the yard on about 30% throttle. it would have run all day. if i backed off the throttle at all, it would stall.
so it will run once it starts, but doesnt get the gas to start. i tried opening up the idle to that like 30% spot it ran for on the throttle but still wont start
ideas??? choke?

its that small inflatable with way too much motor on it
gas was stabilized all year. problem was the guy wanted to use it oh once every 6 weeks-- doesnt work with this ethanol.
i cleaned the carbs twice in the summer and then going into winter cleaned everything... everything. the carb was spotless. i can play with everything except this 'atuo-choke' thing that these yamaha's have that i never heard of... it doesnt seem right that it have have an automatic choke but no electric start. where is the power coming from to regulate the choke if the motor isnt running...
i put a peice of cardboard over most of the intake (to almost create my own choke) and it turned the first pull, then i think i confused the thing and got no where on attempts after that.
i adjusted the idle basically to match the speed where i could run it the slowest without it stalling and still no start... its like its not getting fuel at start through the carb... but if i spray it with carb cleaner through the intake it gets the fuel and starts, so the fuel is making it through the carb.
i cant imagine the idle jets being clogged still... but i could go back. i am leaning it towards being a choke issue with this sensor though... i just have no idea where the sensor is or what it looks like
