im up in the air i wana do 4.10s like i had in my 91 i liked them in that car but i dont know if id be better off with 3.73s its for my 04 gt it has a cold air and cat back probly gona have a programmer and a 100 shot it has 315 drag radials on the back i street drive it 99 precent of the time its on the highway but not to often i want to run it at the track as much as possable so the question is 4.10s or 3.73s
3.73's are much better for a daily driver in my opinion...... 4.10's may be better for the track or an automatic....GO WITH THE 3.73'S ZACH.....Especially if you decide to sell it in a week..it will be more desireable to the buyer.

marc im not selling the car i owe on it and i bought a house so if it goes i wont be able to replace it so its here to stay forever, and i was thinking the samething im definitly leaning towards 4.10s still looking for imput anyone jhave an idea what it should run with a 100 shot
It depends on how much you drive the highway. 4.10s are great around town and the track. 373s would be better on the highway cruising. Won't rev as much.
4.10's with a TR3650 5 spd will run you around 2800-3000 rpms at 80mph with a 275/40/17 rear tire. I didnt like them on the highway. The programmer will be necessary to adjust for the new gears anyway so definitely get that before you do the gears. Those speedcal boxes are ok, but you get much more out of the programmer.
What size tire are you running at the track? That will help answer your gear quesition too. 4.10's may work well for you if you run a tall enough tire, otherwise its all going up in smoke.
zach you would be fine with ether gear 4.10s to beat on but most the time your with the girls riddin around wastin gas 3.73 would help your wallet with that but when we go cruisin your prob going to want 4.10s to keep up lol good luck makin your mind up
im gona try to get a package deal from paul for the 4.10s and the programmer i have 315 18s not sure the hieght but there drag radials so i think ill need the 4.10s to lay down good strips
If you get 373's your gonna say I should of got 410's if you get 410's after a few long drives and chaseing your buddies on the highways your gonna say I should of got 373's, but I went 410's and like them I kno you will too
I had same delema when I biult my 02 GT . Ended up going with 3:90 's . I felt it was a good compromise . Being a street car and gas prices going up ( predicting 5$ plus a gallon this summer ) I would consider gas mileage , drivability, aswell as engine wear.
i agree with sean lol 4.10s would wake that lincoln up too lol...3.90s would be a good solution like mineral 02 said...5 bucks a gallon damn...looks like i might be trying e85 lol
when i had yukes car and went with 3.90s i was afraid for 4.10s... the 3.90s killed the mileage enough and were still a good performance difference but still for highway driving like you said zach its a bitch... your running like 2800 rpm at 70-75 i forget maybe yuke will chime in... if your driving on highway that much id go 3.73 just because 4.10 killing gas, loud and 3.73 will still give you the power on the line.. that being said i have 4.10s in my 08 now and love them... however the car is much more driveable on highway speeds than yukes was with the 3.90s... it seems to be running lower rpm but i dont think thats possible to a noticable extent just from a 3v vs 2v. its also a bigger car though
just my 2 cents

You must go 4:10's you will love it! In my 05 stang the 4:10's is only at 3000 RPMs going 80 MPH so really not that bad on the gas. so if you havnt decided yet 4:10's is the way to go
i have 373 and only noticed 200 rpm diff in 5th gear on the highway
wish i went with 410s now
You have to go 4:10's if you have an AUTO, YOU WILL REGRET IT IF YOU DONT....I promise you...I have an auto 05 and notice some difference but not the biggest....3:73's you will not really notice a difference.
The biggest change I noticed was putting a race tune from BAMA that more or less messed with the throttle response and that was def worth it
Are you going to Install the gears yourself? Or pay a Shop?
