simple job make sure that everything is unplugged correctly and make sure to get ALL the screws and bolts.do not tug cause that will cause problems...obviously u have to take the entire center consol off before pulling the dash...main thing take your time and do not get frustrated

I put a 1993 black interior into my 88. It's not tough.

Leave the 87-89 dash frame in the car. Mount the new dash on it. 90% of the screws lone up, but some of the ones on the drivers knee area are different. Need to drill into the metal frame and use the screws.

Small tab behind gauge cluster needs to be trimmed off, you'll see it when you get to that step, it won't be seen

Need to use the 90-93 hvac controls

Seat belts...only 1990 black seat belts fit in 87-89 cars. 91-93 won't fit. You'll see why. Rear seat belts....don't bother. Find some 79-84 black lap belts....much easier.

Rear quarter plastics. The b-pillar seat belt upper mount is higher on the 90+ cars, so you will need to drill a new hole slightly lower through the plastic. Then use a rubber grommet to fill in the old hole.

Everything else pretty much direct swaps over. Your original gauges, gauge pod and column trim can be used.

If you have the has cap locker, you will need to drill a hole in the glovebox for that.

Very easy swap. Nothing to worry about. And since it's winter and need an excuse to post pics of my car since it's away for the winter....a pic of finished product. All oem black interior in an 88

Same year? Black? Is it painted because black dashes were 90-93 which is slightly different from 87-89 dashes

Well, if its black and not painted, it's a 90-93 dash. Some slight difference like I said in my first post. Still not a huge deal.
