I'm not sure if this is the right thread but whatever.

Problem: I was driving my 94 explorer today and I had the heat on and then the vents started pouring out smoke. Checked the heat guage, not over heating. Pulled over and check the engine bay, no smoke. Has anyone come across something like this and if so what the fuck could it be? I'd rather not go outside tomorrow and see my car in a pile of ash.

legit smoke. the heat was set to floor and it was pouring out the defrost vents.

What did it smell like ? Was it a sweet smell ? Electrical smell ? Etc ....

honestly I thought it smelled great at first, kind of like I drove by a campfire or something. Wood smelling? Not too sure once I realized it was my car I went into panic mode

probly heater resistor melting thats my first guess then id pull the heater motor and look around in side see whats up if the resistors not melted

if you have the defrost on is there a mist on windshield? if so heatercore is leaking.
