i believe for a 96-98 swap your harness and shortblock is the same you would need the heads timing cover chains intake ect to do the swap

I think you have to switch the COPS to make it work. There may be something else, but its not too difficult. You would be better off getting a 99/01 motor though as they have better heads/intake. Drop it in and go. There may be more that I'm forgetting though.

It probilly wont pass emission test........the vin says one engine and the computer will state another.........2 diff. computers.

but i believe a dealership could reflash the computer to have the correct vin in the computer like putting a used computer in a car the vins dont match till there reflashed i could be wrong but we change computers with junk yard computers all the time we just have them reflashed
