so i pulled the junk t-5 outa my 91 last night. everything came out nice and smooth. got the trans on the floor and noticed some damage on the input shaft. so i peek in through the bellhousing and uh oh theres pieces of pilot bearing everywhere. i wasn't happy so then i pull down the bellhousing and clutch figuring id find a wasted $300+ centerforce clutch but nope it was fine....phew. at this point i look at the driveshaft and holy fuck the yoke is toast....ribbed for her pleasure is the best description i can use! never weld your spider gears and think that its a good idea. glad i have a aluminum shaft at the house and that im swapping the stock 8.8 out 2night for a 3.73 rear with a locker....i know a locker is 1 step away from a spool but at least it has some give in the corners....will post up some pictures of the carnage and swap tonight/tomorrow, should be able to drive this pig again finally hopefully 2night but definatly 2morrow
just thought someone could get a good chuckle out of my misfortune/stupidity:fahttp://www.activeboard.com/emote.img?ID=5043il:
