help with msd6 btm

hey guys, i am having a problem with my msd box. its brand new and its the 6BTM.when i hook it up the car will run really rough for a couple minutes and then stall, when i try to restart it all it does is crank. i am getting spark when it cranks but it wont start.then when i disconnect it and run stock it starts right up and runs fine.
i do have a twin turbo setup with 255 fuel pump and 39# injectors and it has not been tuned yet(going saturday) could this be a timming problem? i just dont understand why it runs good with stock ignition.the msd is brand new. please let me know if yu have any idea what it could be,thanks- justin

are you running a separate 6al with the btm box added? or is it one unit. What are you running for timing, wires plugs, dizzy?

I am running the msd with the btm built in,msd 8.5 wires, msd cap and rotor, stock distributer and as far as I know it's stock timing. Plugs are autolite23 gapped a .035

i have found msd to be poor quality and you are better off running a stock ignitions system unless your over 700 hp

I would set the base timing to 12* advanced, and start from there. Do you have a timing knob? and what is it set at? The #s are % not degrees. Msd online has all the info.

Here is a dumb question, but have you checked all the connections and grounds to the msd?

Yes I have checked and rechecked all connections and grounds. I'm going to performance dyno today to get t tuned so I'll see what he thinks. Maybe I'll reconnect it after he tunes it.

Well I went to the dyno for a tune this past saturday and still had problems. It seems like it is having spark blowout above 3k rpms. After the tuning was done the car wouldn't start until I disconnected the msd. I'm going to gap the plugs tighter and just run stock ignition. Hopefully that will fix the problem, the car made 275 rwhp and 380 rwtq @ about 3-3200 rpms.
