my causin broke down i need ideas


his 87 gt he was just drivin along and it died so i go there no spark i try the module and coil no luck i checked has fuel pressure no spark any ideas tryed switching cap and rotor with his other car since his look crappy still nothing has power at the coil with a test light seems to loose ground when the keys on is that normal im alittle stumped i was gona start checking fuseable links but the other time i had that happen it was the module idk any ideas

no spark at all and power at the coil check for spark out of the coil then check for spark out of the cap


you can just take a wire and run off constant power on the + side of the coil and try starting it

no spark out of the coil im gona try running a power wire to the coil but with a test light and the key on theres power there but it has groun till the keys on and then it dont can i run a power wire and a ground wire and try that would it work maybe the coil i put on its junk it hasnt been used in a year

Check for a bad stator. It's inside the distributor. You usually want to replace that and the ignition module as a pair.

stator, some people call it the pickup .......you need to dissasemble the distributer to replace it......i think it might be ford only.....not 100%sure...

provided you tried module and coil already.

^^ thats not true i had my notch for over a yr....the ones i register i keep for a minimum of 3-4 months everything that doesnt get registered....well thats less then 2 weeks lol
