Timing cover

What do you guys use on sealing the timing cover on a 302. I usually use rtv around the water passages and then the gasket. I would say I have had a 50/50 sucess ratio when sealing the cover. I have used hi-tack gasket adhesive with good results except when on or near the water passages when using the rtv.

I am the middle of doing the top end on a motor right now and could use some input. There is nothing worse than putting it all together and seeing a small green drip- :crycry:
