just unbolt them and pull them off drivers side lift it from the bottom and flip it off might have to remove coils but not if your good are you painting them yellow to get ready for hot import nights?
im thinking red with the raised parts still back would go with the ooverall car, black and red cobra brakes etc.. but grabber blue cud look reall good.
can i run into any problems taking the covers off? any precautions i should take
Easy as pie !! Pulled them off many times on my 02 and the rubber seals are reusable . Just remember to use a little black RTV where the heads meet the timing cover to prevent oil leaks .
whyd u pull em off? do i have any worries about fucking the engine up by takin theese off? shud i like cover the openings with trash bags or newspaper etc..
any ideas on what else to paint along with valve covers?
im mechanically inclined, ive done all the work on the car im just looking into it all first, found a few writeups online doesnt look bad i just see people saying it was kind of a bitch with clearance.
so what kind of paint should i use along with the adhesion promoter?
use brake cleaner to get all oil and grease off use scuff pad so you have some adheision{sp} so the paint sticks then i would use and acrilic paint or the paint that is made for plastics if you are going to paint from a gun there is an addative to put in it but dont rember what it is called paint will stick if the prep is done right i personal would paint them black cuase any dirt will be really noticable with a diff color

yesterday is history tomorrow is a mystery
im not too worried about the dirt, i clean my car like twice a week and i detail the engine about once a week, its black so it takes alot to keep this thing clean
still thinking about doing this, seems pretty easy as far as just unbolting the covers, painting them, and then replacing gaskets... rtv between the valve and timing chain covers... and then bolting back on, but can i run into problems with the cam area exposed when the covers are off as i paint them? any other things to look out for?
id just cover up the cam aera with some clean rags just to keep any thing from falling in it id all ready have done it if i was you your over thinking it there pretty dam easy

i think you need to make a correction in this first statement... heres my suggestion
"im mechanically inclined, ive done ZERO OF the work on the car im just looking into it all first"
