Saw this on another forum and thought it was a pretty good write up... considering ive been looking into doing this at some point but i dont know if im qualified for it yet.
It's alot of work and didn't look right to me . Maybe I missed it but ...there was no air meter on the mark 8 set up he had for starters ! He also said the check engine light was not on ... but in the video it was !! I think it's a can of worms .... When you buy parts your gonna have to know whats cobra , lincoln and mustang . I also think it would hurt the retail value because of the mismatch of parts . I would look for other alternatives .

Mark 8 motor is ok, but not ideal. You would be better off getting a 99-01 motor. Better heads, intake and just like the 96-98 cobras they still have a steel crank. The mark 8 has a cast iron crank, B heads, etc. Its not a horrible thing to have, but the 99+ is better. The mark 8's do have a teskid block though which is a bit stronger than the newer WAP block found on 01's.
You can pick up complete engine/tranny and wiring harness with computer for under $2000 now.
