My e-brake cable snapped on me the other day. Now when i drive, i hear a noise that could be the rear e-brake partially on, or the cable hanging on the driveshaft or something cause its only when the car is rolling. Not sure exactly what it is. I have never done an e-brake cable before, how do i do it? my car is a 1990 with rear drums.
it's got drums no calibers to freeze, it could be engaged if the spring is still pushing. most common thing is for the end where the cable comes to the handle to brake, which wil cause the cable to come down and hit the driveshaft

tim i think thats exactly what happened, it broke near the handle. If i remember correctly i cant feel a cable moving as if it were still attached so that must be what happend. how do i swap it out??
When you replace the broken cable .... check to make sure the other two cables move freely . Might have a frozen cable that caused the other to snap . Also if it snapped the front cable that goes to the E-brake handle .... you will have to reset the coil spring for it to work correctly .

Wheels - I even said it was rear drums goofball!
i was half asleep on medication for the shin splints i have fucking suck so much pain but pain killers make you feel goooooood
