Just to be sure that its the starter, remove the small wire from the starter solenoid. Then jump that terminal to the positive terminal with a screwdriver. If the car starts to turn over then its the solenoid and not the starter. If nothing happens then its the starter.

are all the bolts in the starter completely tight, these cars tend to losen the starter bolts easily

not to be an ass but are you 100% sure the starter is turning? if so then its not the starter. will the car bump start?

i'd say either its just loose and the gear and flywheel aren't meshing correctly, or you busted some teeth off the starter gear or flywheel. Definitely have to go under the car at this point to further troubleshoot it.

I'm hoping that it is only the starter and not the flywheel. I'm busy with work through the weekend so hopefully monday I will have it all take car of. I'll let you know when I figure it out.
