agree ... but dale jr shouldnt drive even drive his dads car jr is the most overrated driver in nascar .. he has best equipment now.. cant do shit never one a championship .. i like him but if it wasnt for his last name he would be like anyon else in my opinion and newmans car should not be painted like that..it should be retired or used by gm goodwrench only ...all in all ive oval track raced my whole life the drag scene is my new thing....but off topic about the jr thing it just gets to me about that guy still cant understand ..but its his last name .... now you take tony stewart he can win in any car u put him in dirt car ,sprint ect.. has ran indy ect ...drivers like that get my credit and have won championships ....id like to see jr win ...and win a championship but.... jrs already like 34 or 33 and he isnt gonna be dale sr on stats wise

not a true statment the number is still owned by rcr they have full rights to use that number for who ever they want richard just wont use it for just any one he said a few weeks ago that theres a few more earnhardts comming up threw the ranks that he would think about letting them drive if they were ever signed to rcr
he will never be his dad he has never won a championship only back in the busch series and since being in the cup series has only won a handful of times ...
he has a hendrick car the best of the best ...why cant he finish were the other hendrick cars can ...
im not a gordon or jimmie johnson fan and i dont dislike dale jr but some people are caught up in hes the greatest nascar driver now....dale sr was the best
this is all opinion like i said i personally think tony stewart is the best skilled driver out there look at histrack record has won in any car he has stepped into ,ect..and has championships multiple and look how hes doin this year .....and its his first year in a newcar and team and all the stress of being an owner .....all im saying if it isnt for the earnhardt last name dale jr would be just like anyone else .....his dad was the best and when he died all his fans nowroot for the son ..dale jr .....idk realy nascar has got to the point its glamourus and a bunch of bullshit anyways not like it used to be

people have to stop compairing him to his father no one will ever be sr. in this day and age no one could be sr cant race the same. dale sr was one of the best drivers to ever sit in a race car jr will never be his old man but no one else will be either

Actually All Numbers are Owned by NASCAR. It's their discretion and way of honoring Sr by not giving it to anybody.
