tach wiring?

aright so i just put a 5" tach in my car, and everything works fine, i hooked up the light inside the tach to the parking lights, the switched power to the tach to a switched from the ign. switch, and obv ground to ground and the other wire to the tach source, well, my problem is that when i hit where i set it for the shift light to come on, the check oil light comes on and not the shift light? WTF IS THAT? i have absolutely zero clue why that would happen, didnt touch anything to even do with that? and the check oil light has NEVER been on before, say i set it to 5500, as soon as the motor hits 5500 the check oil light acts as a shift light???fail

ok, im sitting here with the wiring diagram from the car, i def hooked it up right, the only thing i can think is that i took the switched power from the ignition switch and it appears that the wire i used for the switched power goes to the cluster listed as "warning light" but it doesnt say for what
