I have a 93 that I run manual steering on. It's excellent. I run skinny's up frt and my car weighs 3066 with me in it. The effort at a stop is minimal-IMO. While driving, you don't even notice. To me, it feels like my steering wheel is hooked directly to the road-which I like. I will be switching to a manual brake set up in the next couple months-I'll keep you posted on that.

I mean..I have lost a belt and tried steering a car with a power rack and no power...Im assuming a roack made for that is much easier.

and how do you have power brakes and manual steering? i thought they were connected (hydroboost) and when you did one, the other had to go?

The manual steering is nothing like steering a car with lost pwr steering. I believe it must be the ratio that makes it easier. As far as the brakes go, they're not tied in together-not on my car at least.

Also, when doing the manual brake conversion, you need to change the location of the brake rod to the pedal to provide more leverage and less pedal effort. Many kits I've seen do not do this. I'm making my own plate and rod, and going with a 1" bore master. I will also be modifying my existing brake pedal, as mentioned.

yes..I have read that...also read that a 7/8" bore has worked well and the Strange 1.25" makes for lots of pedal effort.

I have strange brakes sittin here but was going to use them with power brakes (no abs)

I'm not familiar with the Strange set up myself. I'm sure you have 4 wheel disc too. I have MarkVII calipers with drum rears. So I would guess we have much different requirements. Good luck, that car is sick.

I have the same setup. It is best with the skinnys. Pain-in-the-ass with stock wheels and tires.
