hi guys i have a 1990 mustang 5.0 and its my fathers and the guy we bought it from said he play with the timing so is at 14 but i drive the car and if i rev it to shift it hesitated and looses power and a small explosion comes out and power comes back can anybody tell me whats that i dont now much about mustang but i want to fix the problem can anybody help thanks.
Take a spark plug out and see how it looks, also check your wires. Its probably something to do with the ignition/spark system. Also, make sure all of your fuel injector wiring plugs arent loose.
one simple thing that bothered me and caused this to happen with me was a dirty Mass Air meter... I know it sounds too simple to be the culprit, but worth a shot and its cheap and easy

X2 a dirty mass air can cause your air fuel ratio to get all out of whack and send shitty signals to the computer. If you clean it, disconnect your negative battery terminal (so you computer can reset itself) then use mass air sensor cleaner, or electrical parts cleaner inside the mass air flow sensor focusing on the the prongs. Then let it chill for 15 mins to give your computer the time to reset. It will take a little driving to make the computer re-learn, but you should notice a difference.
It might have nothing to do with you but my timing is at 14 too and I used to run 93. When I went wot sometimes it sputtered and my check engine light would apear and disapear. Now I"m running 89 just to see and it runs perfect now and no pinging or knocking. Idk why but I don't think my car likes 93.
