I am planning on removing my old pass side door and was wondering if I had to take the fender off in order to remove the door properly? And what steps need to be taken in order to remove the door from the hinge? Thanks for the help.. I greatly appreciate it.
you dont HAVE to remove the fenders, if you want just get a sawz-all and cut off the door pins, thats how ive done it, autozone has new door pins cheap
i didnt take my fenders off because i didnt want to align them but its really hard to remove the doors without removing the fender. I drilled out the pins from the top with 90 degree drill until the meal on top of the pin was thin then i used a metal chisel to get it flush with the hinge and i hit them through the hinge with a punch make sure u have someone with you while you door it to hold the door up. To install the pins i used a S bend tool made for it so it was easy otherwise u will risk hitting ur paint with a hammer or punch because u have to hit them pretty hard to get the pin the new bushings because there tight. And i found the mustangs unlimited pin/bushing kit sucks and the one from the help isle at autozone works best. hope that helps

i was gonna do that but i found it hits the door and chews it up
if you just take the fender bolts out, and take the 2 bolts that hold the nose on, you can slide the fender foward enoungh to get at the door bolts, easiest way i know
Never done it before.. Is it easy? where are the bolts for the nose located? Sorry I just want to make sure I do it right and don't f**k anything up.. I know it may be too much to ask, but if someone can give me a "walk-Thru" on this subject matter, that would be greatly appreciated, and awesome.. Thanks again guys, and thanks to those whom respond.
LOL Sweet... I'll have to see, maybe we can set something up.. not positive yet as there is a lot going on this month, but yes eventually I do want to have a meet @ my place for sure I'm down with that.. I'll keep you guys posted.
Kevin, all the bolts on the top of the fender come out, as do the ones in the doorjamb that attach to the fender take the ones out of the bottom of the fender near the rocker un clip the bumper cover and unbolt it where the 90degree l brackets hold them there are also 2 brackets that go to the rad support that need to come off on the fender area. the headlight mounting panel also bots to the rad support take the bolt out of there if u break them don't worry about it i never bolt that panel back anyways. take the splash guards out and then the nose needs to be taken off by 2 people with care if you have the wheels off the nose walks off much easier but there is still some maneuvering to do. Ive taken about 4 off in the past month so any questions just ask
also don't forget to unplug the antenna and headlights or u will trip and drop the nose there are pictures on here of my nose off my car when i painted my engine bay they should be in the project section of the forum
Thanks Mike for the info.. Hopefully I can get started on this project this weekend coming up.. provided I get a new set of "Door Pins" but I will keep you all posted, and Mike I will contact you if I have any further questions, thanks bro.. and thanks to those who replied and have helped.. Thanks a million.
