pulled my wheel just now to see if i can stop the squeak i have been hearing for a while and its driving me nuts. Come to find out it is becuase mustangs suck. I can grab my studs and move them in and out off the axel, not much but enough that it lets the rotor move and its causing the squeak, the drivers side is tight, passenger side is loose, how do i tighten this? this reveals why I have a slow axel seal leak....... im sick of all these problems...
Um that appears to be normal play however the should be some grease between rotor & where end of axle sticks through rotor. Easy way out is spray some penetrating fluid/WD40 in that area & it should stop the squeak. Or you can pull rotor off & add some grease to that area.

thanks for the input, could it be normal paly even if the other side is stiff as hell? the side thats loose i can move around a lot. I can move the rotor itself a lot on the opposite side of the calliper. Cant do any of that on the other side... Got late and dark so I just put the wheel back on and Ill deal with it another day, I'll try sprayin some weasel piss on it, hopefully the squeak will be gone. Damn fords man.
Thing is ... when you tighten the wheel lugs the rotor is not gonna move on the axle like that . Try putting a lug nut on with the wheel off and hand tighten it against the rotor . The rotor will be tight against the axle .... Take a look at the brake pads . Maybe one of the calipers is hanging up and dragging on the rotor . Look for any deep grooves on the rotor and see if the axles will spin with out any resistance . Did you change anything on the suspension ? Shocks ... Springs ?

makes sense... no i did not change anything, Im not so worried about the play in the rotor, its more the play it has when i pull on one of the studs i can move the whole thing in and out a little. they do not spin freely, there is a little resistance, when I first put the wheel back on last night you could here the pads touch a little causing some squeaks. I have new brakes and rotors, im trying to hold off until winter,,,, looks like i may just swap em out now.
