i just used a stock sending unit minus the in tank pump and ran a rubber hose into the tank...just make sure the hose isnt too long other you'll get fucked like me doing a donut and the hose will bend up and you'll be riding on a flat bed home

The early carbed fuel level sending units won't work on the 87-93 cars. They have different resistance values and are not compatible with the 87-93 fuel guages. Use a 87-93 sending unit to make the guage work properly. I have one out of my old 90 L.X. let me know if you want it. Maybe we can work out a deal.

i have the tank from my 85 in my car, and got an aftermarket gauge because of the resistance value, and was told that a newer sender(which i have) wouldnt fit into the old tank....
