Where did you get the carb ? I'm thinking if it's a used one ... maybe the jets are clogged . Try pooring a little gas in the carb when you crack the throttle . ( don't look in the carb when you do this ..soo you don't burn your face off in case of a back fire ) if it recovers and revs up then your carb is clogged ...
I don't know what you mean by timing in the cam . That would be degreeing it and should have been done ( but not needed ) when you were installing it . You can just install it straight up on the factory timing marks . However you will give up some performance by doing this .

i meant i didnt kno if the timing was more advanced or not with that cam, but the culprit is the carb, idle circuits are fine but as soon as i hit the throttle something isnt right

You could go as far as 16 degree's initial with your set up , but you must run nothing less than 91 octane .. I recommend 93 ! Take the carb apart and clean it and you should be fine . Might be a good idea to get a rebuild kit for it . They are cheap and that way you only have to take it apart once . biggrin.gif

Sound like you accelerator pump isn't working. Or it just might need a bigger squirter.
