do it. not like your paying for it. you can still get good power out of it and its alittle newer. So you would swap the motor if something bad happens. Trust me, once you go modular, you will never go back!!
i wouldnt personally because i like the 5.0. it all depends on what u are going to do to it. its a lot harder to get sn 95 stuff. let me tell you, but the car gives a lot better of a ride. all in prefrence.
if this is the car i would pass just cuz its from a dealer they always fuck people over in trades, and you gotta think about WHY did someone trade this car in whats wrong with it, run a car fax on it the vins here, but if the car is nice and clean do it would would have a $2900 cobra

Stay with the fox. It is cheaper in the long run to play with. The cobra's are very expensive to fix and they suck to work on. You can't do any low buck mods to the cobra like you can with a fox. Besides your car is beautiful. I was eyeballing it a while back when it was for sale. I just didn't want to part with the money. I only have a 1 car garage and for me to own another really nice fox I'd destroy it parking it outside. Keep the fox and enjoy it.

i love how the presses CLEAN TITLE!!!! not like any idiot like me can't get around a totaled car keeping the title clean lol
The miles on that cobra is high, but nothing to really worry about anymore than you would on a 5.0. You are getting a newer car that is faster than your car to stock if speed interests you. Superior brakes all around and real 5 lug. Much better interior, you will see if you do it how much more comfortable they are than fox bodies. Resale value on a cobra is so much better than a fox body. If you want to make the car faster you can just bolt on a blower and have mid 400's to the tire. If you want to do heads then you just take yours off and have the ported, no need for a/m heads which is why there isn't much of an a/m for 4V heads. There are some cam choices out there to go with it. You have a better motor to start with if you want a fast car, weak rods/pistons though. Block and crank are far superior to a fax body.
They aren't hard to work on either. No more than a fox body except a fox body is a lot easier to get the heads off. Carfax is a good guide, but not a guarantee of a complete car history. Those cars don't rot out like fox bodies do unless they have been repaired poorly in the past. Check it out and see if its in good shape. An prior accident is no reason to not buy it unless the repairs weren't done properly.

if you plan on modifying the hell out of your clean fox, then i would trade for the cobra, but in the long run a all original foxbody can bring some decent cash as of now and the future....
Those Cobras are nice, even I would take one...BUT, it just seems a little fishy that the guy is all for the trade. #1 you never know what your getting into when you step into a new car, it could end up being that your getting their mess. #2 I've seen a couple of those Cobras with engine knocking and problems with anything over 100K, so take that as a FYI also...But yeah, they are nice, but since your fox is so clean and you truly know the car I would keep it. You have nothing to lose doing this, but stepping into the Cobra could bite you in the ass when you find out a week later some kind of secret problem with it or some shit.
I know its a bit late, but I think you made the right choice. Foxs are now more or less 20 years old... a clean stock fox low miles, well it's value is going to start increasing over the next couple of years.
I think you will regret not getting the cobra, but on the other hand at least you know your car and know what you have. There is always the risk of buying someone else's headache when you buy a used car. Cobras are far more limited than a fox body and if any car will go up in value it will be them. If you want a blown fox body then you should either buy one already done or sell your car to get one. Fox bodies have plummeted in real world sales, not the sellers outer space asking prices, and you can get h/c/i blower cars for $5-$8000 in good working order.
I think for you GT to ever get top dollar it would have to stock like it is now.
to be totally honest, i dont care what my cars worth to everyone else. when i had my GT everyone told me not to touch it because it was all original and stuff, and i never did and look what happened, it got bent in half and i never did what i wanted to do! i love my car, i have money to blow to mod it, thats what im gonna do.
You made the right choice. If you want better brakes just upgrade to the SN95 stuff. Handling,no problem that's an easy upgrade and it is alot easier to make a light car handle vs. a heavy one. If it was a terminator I wouldn't hesitate to trade mine but that car is in a different class altogether..........
I would say stay with your foxbody i owned a 1996 cobra very clean,I did a few things like off road cat back shifter 3.37s.Pretty much there alot of money to play with best thing to do to them is supercharger but they have shitty rods.I sold mine off to do a foxbody..From what i have seen u got a pretty nice an clean car so i would STAY with urs..
But he is asking a good deal i sold mine with 139K for 6500 cash..
Paul I don't want to light into you, and I dunno if that was a joke or not...But honestly sometimes your an idiot lmao, your so anti-fox body go new mustangs its not even funny. hahaha...and you drive an AUTO!!!
cobra only because once u start modding 15plus yr old car with the original spark plugs in it its not going to last!!! cobra is already broken in and 100k is nothing on a mod motor its a 97 with 112k my car is a 00 with 90k so the miles aren't to far off so why not upgrade it its not gonna cost u any $$$
