Steeda Tri-ax shifter

Well, I am looking for a new shifter, I dont like how the stock one is, I want one a lot tighter and a shorter throw, one that you can bang gears with like its your last shift. A buddy of mine has one and I felt it and loved it, It was the steeda Tri-ax. Anyone have/had one? According to the reviews on American Muscle they are loved by many. Whats everyone opinion on the steeda tri-ax???

Junk. Very notchy and I had trouble getting it into 3rd. Swapped to a used Pro 5.0 and all the hassles went away and no more missed gears. Only changes were shifters. Triax didn't impress me at all.

How is it "notchy"? Keep in mind I have a TR 3650, may be different then what you had?

I think the steeda triax is over rated. My first hand experience with one was that the shifting feel was very vague and would have been impossible for me to speed shift. I personally have always been a fan of Pro 5.0.

I vote MGW shifter.

I've had a tri-ax, pro.50 and B&M. I now have an MGW on my 3650 in my GT and love it.

I actually ebayed the Pro 5.0 i had for my 5.0 and will be getting an MGW shifter for it very shortly.

If you are local to me, i'd let you try it out.

Notchy meaning the shifts weren't smooth like on a T5 w/ a pro 50. I had it on a TR3650 and when I put the pro 50 in it that all went away.

The shifter was the problem. I changed the trans fluid after the shifter thinking it was that and still did the same thing. The pro 50 went it and all the problems went away. Should have known seeing as its made by Steeda.

I have heard good reviews of MGW, but there are a few unhappy customers of their's out there too.

Good to know. Maybe I will look into the pro 5.0.

i LOVE my pro 5.0, but haven't really felt much of anything else to voice an opinion on them.

ur just saying that cuz you grind gears with a stock shifter...anything would be better for you haha...but yeh my dad had a tri-ax in his 02 vert GT and i liked how it shifted but downshifting into 2nd was a pain in the ass sometimes...and he broke the handle while racing when he shifted into 3rd and ended up with a cracked radio and bloody knuckle lol

I like MGW and think it is the best out there!!!

I did like my tri ax in my cobra. I added the Roush handle and it gave me much more throw and i never missed a gear.
