Tire size choice?

My rims just arrived to my house for my 89' GT. They are anthracite deep dish cobra R's.

Front 17X8

Rear 17x9

What size tires should I get? My car is lowered about 2 inches all the way around.

The company I bought these from said they usually run 245/45/zr17 on the 17x8's
and 275/40/zr17 for the 17x9's. Does this sound right?

Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks!

Those sizes are right. nothing wider than a 255 on an 8" rim and the 275 is good on the 9". You may be able to fit wider tires on the rims, but you won't get the contact patch on the ground making the extra tread useless.

yes. thoes tires sizes are 100% right. I would run nothing different. I have 17x8 all around and run 245/45/17's. Best fit for 17x8's

i personally think 275/40/17's fit very nicely on 17x8's, used to run my stickey mickeys out back

^^^^ didnt take into consideration his 2" drop. I think they will be very close to rubbing if the car is lowered 2" and has 275. IMO

definitely a 245/45 up front and a 275/40 out back. they're almost identical in diameter and they'll fit very well.

when i first put my 17x9 cobras on with 275/40/17 and the eibach pro kit they rubbed like HELL...but all i had to do was roll the fender lip and it was fine...and 245/45 for the front is fine...might rub a little bit on the inner fender wall but i pulled mine out lol...if you need the tool to roll the fender lips let me know....i know a couple people with the professional roller
