331 stroker

Sup guys, haven't been on much since i haven't had my car on the road, but i'm finally putting my car on the road after a long winter. Anyway, i've got an 88gt 5.0 with some trickflow heads, trick flow track heat cam with 5.10 lift, full roller, edelbrock performer upper and lower, bbk 65mm throttle body, 1 1/2 flowtech longtubes into 40 series, built t5, 3.73 gears. But as i was doing a teardown on the motor, i found out that my lower end was bone stock. So, i figured the lower end should be rebuilt. I ordered a scat rotating assy with forged crank, forged h-beam rods, forged dome pistons and i'll be taking it to the machine shop to get it hot tanked and bored .030 over. But, i just have a few questions about the stroker kit; I was wondering if i need to turn up my fuel pressure to compensate for the extra 29ci. I also ordered a nitrous express direct port kit, and was wondering what shot would be safe, Because i should be up around 9.7-10.1:1 compressions, and i heard spraying can be a little sketchy with high compression. Anyway, she should be back on the road in about a week, so i'll see you guys around, and thanks for the help.

With a 331 and spray you will probably have to have a chip made and tuned. The headers are too small for your application. You will probably Have to increase the injector size. If the motor makes a good amount of power n/a then the nitrous might put it over the threshold that the block can take. (If you are using a stock roller block). I'd look into studding the main saddles with ARP Studs.

I figured i might have to get it tuned for nitrous, but as for the headders I don't know if I can go any bigger, 1 1/2" individual pipes off the head into a 3" collector isn't big enough? And I forgot to mention that I ordered a moroso girdle for the mains with ARP studs to give the block some extra strength. I have 24# injectors right now, what size do you think would be good?

I run 1.75" headers on my 93. Average tube size is 1.625".

You don't need to get the car tuned for nitrous . You just need an ignition box that can automaticaly retard the timing when i'ts activated and a fuel system that can keep up with the fuel demand ( I.E. .. Fuel pump , Bigger fuel feed line , fuel rails . ) As far as inj. I'd say 36's .. A wet system doesn't rely on the injector's for fuel , but it will rely on the fuel pump to keep up with the volume demand .

The Main cap girdle will help keep the main caps from flexing , But won't do anything for the lifter valley where they are known to split right down the middle . Someone makes a girdle for for the lifter valley .... Can't remember who though . Even with a girdle ..It would still be a time bomb if you make more than 500 rwhp .

I agree that the primary tubes should be at least 1 5/8 ... , but I would go with 1 3/4 . You'll know if the tubes are to small as it will feel flat in the upper RPM 's .... It will Rev , but it won't pull !!

+ 1,000,000. One of the beast ways I have ever read it. A window switch would also be a good grab for a consistant/ safe N2O setup.
