Apparently I love to throw away money...

So I just sold my notch after putting a brand new king cobra clutch KIT in it, $350 T5 with 45k on it that shifted perfect, and a $500 brand new rear end and Moser axles...Not to mention the fact that the car pulled like a rape date FOR what was done to it, AND it had nitrous. doggydoggydoggydoggydoggydoggy

Get in my 86 GT, 1st day out...Great car, really nice, body is great, car looks mint...Too bad it keeps popping out of 2nd on me though WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! doggydoggydoggydoggydoggydoggy

FUCK T5's, WORST FUCKIN TRANNY EVER...PUT THEM IN A FUCKIN HONDA

I'm done.

I have a t-5 out of a 91 GT so it will handle more torque than your 86 t-5 will. I'm looking for 400 with short throw shifter and bell housing . 350 for t-5 and either bell housing or shifter . 300 for just the t-5 . Oh... and it only has 85 k on it . biggrin.gif

I agree! The T-5's are a great tranny and will hold up under some pretty good power for a while. They are even easy to rebuild. If his tranny is popping out of 2nd gear Then he needs a rebuild with a new 2nd gear and a 1-2 slider. Around $500.00 bucks will get you a rebuild kit and a gear and slider. If you can do it yourself you can save money on laber and also get a learning experience.

I say you buy a 3550 and some bolt ons. Worry about building H/C/I down the road more. Also some control arm, new axles and c clip elims.
