The first thing to do would be to check the hydraulic fluid level in the Convertible Top Pump.Remove the filler plug and check the fluid level. It should be level with the bottom of the filler plug hole. If fluid appears excessively low, check for leaks or restrictions in the hydraulic lines, loose or broken fittings, and/or damaged cylinders.
If the fluid level is okay, and the Convertible Top Pump is still making abnormal noises, then chances are good the pump itself is bad.
