Whos got a welder?

Anyone got a spot welder that could take 2 seconds and weld my buddys shifter on his dirtbike to the piece going through the bike? The groves it sits in are stripped and its the only other way other then ripping it apart and replacing the whole 9 yards. Any help appreciated!

dont weld it take the shifter off use a cut off wheel to make the gap larger so you can get more to tighten i also have a welder as last resort.

you might be able to cut the slot in the shifter open a little more too so it
will give more clamping force when you tighten it.

But yes, take a dremel and cut the grooves a little better too.
