So i got my new tires put on today, and well on the way home went to pass a car... i was goin bout 50ish in 3rd gear and went to shift to 4th but as soon as i did the traction control kicked in... but there was no way in hell that i spun my tires... so i tried to see if it would happen again but this time i went from 4th to 5th and bamm traction control kicked in... the only way i could even imagin that happening would be if i gained like 600hp from the tires cause theres once again no way in hell they would be spinning...
so anyone got any ideas or has it happened to anyone else?
oh and do just tell me to drive with the traction control off... im tryin to make these tires last longer then a weekend...

im shiftin at like 4 to 5 grand (thats when im gettin on it from 3-4) maybe a little later
but it never happened with the bald H rated tires that were on there before... i could only get em to spin in 1st and 2nd with traction control on...
thats whats got me nervous... that it didnt do it before today... i was wonderin if the kid that put it on the lift my have pinched or cut somethin along the pinch weld but i dont think that there is anythin that runs along there to get cut or pinched

my best advice would be, if you bought the car recently, which I believe you did, just take it back to the dealer and have them take a look.
Is the tration control actually kicking in or is it just instrumentation? Try dropping the clutch in first and see what happens....you definately arent spinning the tires going from 3-4 in a stock Mach, so somethings definately up

If it only happens when you're gettin on it, it's possible that the system is sensing a little bit of slip, being that the tires are brand new. Break em in for a couple hundred miles and they should be all set.
what i think it is, is that because the rear tires have a 40mm side wall and the fronts still have the 45mm side wall... that the rear tires are having to spin a little bit faster to keep up with the fronts or that what the sensors are see... so i think once i get new fron tires and go to a 40mm side wall up front itll be fine... or i can just drive with the traction control off

Congradulations !! you answered your own question .. If your tires are a different diameter from front to back .... than your ABS sensors will read different speeds and make the computer think the wheels are loosing traction .
