Will be ordering new shifter soon for the 86 GT...Pro 5.0, Steeda Tri-Ax, or B&M Pro Ripper. Looking for feedback on these let me know guys. I want the best. Give me your vote!
i like the steeda tri-ax or my personal favorite...cut the shift handle...take a t-handle b&m....drill out the skinny end and ghetto make a pistol grip lol...works well
Go with a Pro 5.0 but buy an aftermarket stick. The one that comes with it is way too short. It looked funny and I couldn't help but think that it belonged in a Mazda or something like that. I use a stock, factory stick on mine.
Pro 5.0. Triax you will miss gears with and its very notchy. I switched to a pro 5.0 and both those issues went away. The pro 5.0 handle is fine. Unless you are 5 feet tall you will have no issues reaching it as some people cry about. If you do then make a plate to move the handle back. My shifter came with one and it works fine.
I have been running the same 50 shifter for several years on t5s and g-force transmissions .I have tried to break it off but it just hurts my arm. For a daily street driver,I like the flat Husrt shifter handle,I just got a thing for how the flat Hurst handle makes me think of old muscle cars when that was the only shifter to have. There was only two shifters,Hurst for straight drived and B&M for autos.
