HELP! "Not ready for inspection" WTF?

Hi,

Just moved here from Texas. Passed TX Inspection with no issues including on emissions. My vehicle here is "not ready" for an inspection after 2 visits and extensive driving in between. No check engine codes, no illegal exhaust components... I have a big "R" inspection sticker now which is a cop magnet. Been pulled over twice in 2 days because of it. I think the tune on there now may somehow be causing the issue.... SCT Tuner with a Steeda 93 Octane tune on it now. Running a Steeda CAI as well...

Any advice? I'm lost :

i do mass state inspections...

you might need to put the car through its drive cycle, if youve got a $5000 modis then you can do it but you might need to bring it to a dealership or a shop to have em put it through... sometimes drivin alone dosent help cause it might have a retarted drive cycle like go 60 then stop then go back to 60 then down to 20...

and theres nothing the cops can do about haveing an emissions failure, only a saftey failure can they tow your car your still alowed to legaly drive around with the black R... well hope i helped let me know how it turn out

Yea man. Stock cats w/Borla dual-exhaust but I seriously doubt that would be an issue.

Thanks. Do you have a shop that can do the drive cycle or one that you recommend around Dedham?

na i work in sudbury... you should try a ford dealership they would probably know better then any one else... and having borla exhuast wouldnt effect the emissios system

Did you shut anything off in the tune that had to do with the emissions ? If you turned off the MIL's then this could be your problem .

The mils on the s197's would be a problem.

A place doesn't do a drive cycle. U have to drive it. Maybe 10miles or 50miles. I kept having to go back again and again till i discovered what it was.

Check your tuner. U don;t seem like you have mods that need a tune to drive correctly. Put it back to stock. Drive it non stop for a solid day and then try it.

I looked up the drive cycle from ford. it's like a ritual.

Drive 60mph, then drop to 20 with no throttle or brake, drive 3m at a steady 40mph then 35, etc etc....

It's like a spell lol. My mods actually do require a tune, but I don't think it's that after reading the engine cycle instructions. The cycle is just a royal pain in the rear! :) Thanks again, partner!

Your keep a live wire is the problem. most obdII fords have a keep a live set up. which gives you that chance to run drive cycle's inbetween engine light clearing. and what is happening is your computer is spitting out a p1000 code. but the engine light wont come on for that code. you have to get the wiring info on your car and trace down to find out if it is as fuse, a fusible link, bad wire, or even a computer issue. with out having the keep alive memory working. everytime you shut your car off it resets itself to a p1000 again.
