Ya i cant see why you would ever want to do a 4 eye conversion. To downgrade to an older/uglier style? IMO I think your car looks pretty sick how it is and if you were to convert, doing something different and upgrading would make sense. Like that 99-04 conversion would be sick.

i dno ive always been somewhat partial to the 4 eyes b/c that was the first one i ever did when i was 15 with my dad...and after how nice it came out...then i sold it i kick myself every time i see the pics of it...you cant tell me this is an ugly car...plus i get a free HID kit from a friend for the 4 eye set up...as far as the 99-04...as sick as that would be...it would def take a looong time and alot of money probly to make that set up...but hey if anyones good with body work lets try it
Yo stop copyin me like on my 86 LOL - We can't have a buncha 87-93's runnin around with 4 eye noses, gotta keep the rarity btw 4 eye noses are the best so whoever thinks they are ugly is smokin crack!!!
hey dont forget ur gonna need a rear bumper and new side moldings and make shure u get his front fender extensions cuz 86s are differrnt, the 86 moldings are differnt than 87-93 side moldings, itll look hack if u dont get all the matching moldings, just my 2 cents

i love my 86. i like that i am the only one in the surrounding towns that has this style of mustang. there is 15 or so newer mustangs and 20 or more older gt stangs around. here is a few of mine.

you might be able to get a way with just the front half of the front fender molding. take a close look at my cars molding.
yeh i know frank...allens bringing everything up with him when him and ed come get my car...but what are the fender extensions? i didnt know 86's had them...lemme know
that photoshop came out good. and the car looks like shit with that nose on it. i like mine but would not do it if i where him. money, time, paint. f that. but it is not my car or yours. so do what you think you will like.
i have the light covers on mine buy they where not on in my pics.

x10 on the dont do it. your bad is badass as it is. dont mess with perfection bro. if you want the 4 eyed look, sell your car & buy a 4 eyed. you can get good money for your car & with that money buy a non hacked up nice 86.

lol...dont worry everyone...its not gonna be hacked...itll be done right...with the front clip...the rear bumper...a cowl hood..and all the right trim...what would you guys reccommend for sticking the trim to my car???
ok, here is the thing about attaching used rubber body moldings. 1st, you must remove all the double stick tape & the thin metal strips from the back of the rubber moldings - removing the thin metal strips allows the rubber to lay flat & smooth for a clean OEM install look, use 3M double sided tape w/ the red backing. this is what i did with my moldings on my 88 10 years ago with great success. the metal is usually a bitch to remove & takes awhile but a small flat head screw drivers & needle nose plyers do the job. just pry up one side of the metal strip enough to get a bite on it with the plyers & pull it off it strips. be carful not to cut yourself.

That is the way I did mine. Except I layed mine up on a work bench. I then used a propane torch to heat up the metal strip and attached a small pair of vise grips to the edge of the metal strip. I heated and pulled and it came right off. I did not put the entire flame right on the strip. Just the very tip of it. As you do not want to burn the rubber moulding. A heat gun will work good too. If the moulding is all warped after removing the metal strip lay it on a flat surface for a couple of days and it will flatten itself right out again.

thanks guys...since the front clip fenders and rear bumper cover are all going on from the 86 ill only have to wry bout the door trim and the rear quarter trim...so shouldnt be too too bad to do...then gotta get it all painted...debating on whether i should paint the trim the same color as the car...or paint it black
The people are great on FEP, but what your doing is taboo there.
The site owner couldn't have explained "why" any better.
These are not just "mustangs" to alot of people. They take pride in what they really are, a true 79-86. It is your car, you have every right to do what you wish with it, but when you post on the internet what you want to do, opinions will come out. Also not every website is accepting to it, which you noticed.
"I" any day of the week would rather see people buy the year car they want vs. trying to convert.
I love your car the way it is, its a sharp car by far...with the money you could sell your car for you could find a very nice 4 eye. Just my opinion, but best of luck in which ever you do...I hope your happy in the end.

yeh no shit huh...w/e i like it all that matters...the FEP guy just kinda pissed me off how he came off...but its understandable...no hard feelings there...and frank...for fucks sake learn how to answer your phone lol
Well, the foureyedpride guy is actually a girl. LOL! Her name is Skye and she's great. She started that site because she loves the '79-'86 models and also owns an '85 GT. Over the years, she's seen too many of those cars take a "facelift" with the addition of '87-'93 parts, effectively converting them to "aero" cars, and she's dedicated her site to "Preserving" those cars as much as possible. Likewise, she's also seen many '87-'93 cars that have been converted to foureyes. Neither of these scenerios really preserve the integrity of these cars and that's why they're not allowed on her site.
Personally, that site is my favorite one on the net because she actually monitors the site and keeps it true to her original vision. Also, Scammers and butchers (people who part these cars out for the quick buck) are kept out as well. This allows the members to have a great place to hang out on.
I agree with Jeff and think that your car looks good the way it is. However, it's your car and you should build it to please yourself.
Like i said i understand...i was just kinda pissed at first b/c i was being booted from the site or w/e b/c my car wasn't liked...but i do understand...i havent been booted from the site...so does that mean im still welcome to post? i have a few parts for older fox's that im trying to get rid of...but most everyone on here has the 87-93 style...any suggestions?
another pet peeve is just signing up to peddle parts. Don't attempt it, you will fail...lol
Your welcome to stay on the site, nobody said you can't stay or contribute to the site...but talking about your converting will get you locked/kicked/booted. Keep it out of sight out of mind and your not going to have a problem.
Don't post how to wire the headlights, don't post about moldings, don't ask ANY aero to 4eye questions and you will be ok.
There are quite a few aero owners that do not have 4eyes that post daily. Its not that we don't like 87+, my wife and I would love to get another Blue 89 GT again.
I still think you will regret it in the long run, your car is sharp now...but thats just me.

Damn Josh I'm surprised you haven't hung yourself from all this shit your gettin lol. I think your car looks good now, but will look good with the 86 front end too...The only reason I'm not in favor of the swap is because I like those front ends on the cars they belong on. Besides this I don't think the swap is bad, just you might get shit from people all the time even after its done...And of course you won't have the mean looking 79-86 interior either Find your old maroon 86 GT and buy it back lol...I think an 86 GT is calling you.
Yeah, stick around that site and you'll find that over time, you'll discover the "atmosphere" that Jeff and I are talking about. Like Jeff stated, there's plenty of people on that site that own the '87-'93 styles in addition to their foureye or they just simply own an '87-'93 style without a foureye. They're all welcome and many are excellent members.
I love ALL of the Fox Bodied Mustangs. I'd love to own an '87-'93 T-Top coupe someday. On those years, Ford stepped up to the plate and really made them come alive.
people that sign up on forums just to sell shit pisses me off as well...and i wouldnt do that...id be on the site for everything else as well...but im kinda turned off by how everything has gone...maybe ill be on more ina while...and by the looks of thongs i dno if its gonna happen
