Installing front springs

Alright I am going to be installing new front lowering springs when my mm camber plates arrive within the next few days and was wondering if anyone had any pointers on removal and installation as I don't feel like killing myself. From what I have read I should be able to undo the strut and caliper and lower the front control arm enough to pry the front springs out ( I would be putting a chain through the spring and attaching it to the k member while doing this) and allow for installation of the new shorter springs, Just wondering if anyone had any experience with this method and how it worked or could point me in maybe a bit easier of a direction? Thanks

just did mine last weekend , to install i had to use a set of outside mount spring compressors
and i had to cut about 1" off the threads so when compressed they fit inside the spring area
then put the top of the spring in first ,they catch the bottom on the seat .put a jack under the control arm and slowly jack it up, this worked for me ..hope it helps ya.
