Are you looking for ride height or traction. A "lowering spring" can just be a cut stock spring or a progressive rate spring, or a shorter and progressive spring. Depends on application. Coil overs are a set k rate spring, that is just compressed until a specific ride height and or quality is met. There is a lot of flexability with them. I started with the 190lb springs that are considered light for foxes, but ended up with a 170lbr. If you have a lot of weight taken out of you car, this will effect both the look and the characteristic of the springs handling.
just lookin to lower it and make it have a nice stance...car will have full interior....carb'd 302....and a fiberglass hood....it has no power options or a/c...so it will be a bit lighter than ur standard 86-93 EFI fox...i wuold like it to handle pretty decent too....but more worried about how it sits than handleing , im tryin to make it a fun alll around car, that can run a decent time with drag radials but also handle nice and go pick up groceries at stop and shop ya know?

i started with using my 4 cylinder springs years ago afetr doing my 4 cylinder to 5.0 conversion. i then switched to Eibach springs for a few years. ride was better but not what i was looking for & the car sat too high for my taste. then when i started building up my 88 to 1988 Saleen specs i bought a full set of low mileage used Saleen/Racecraft progressive rate springs. a much firmer ride which i really like because it makes the car more responsive in the turns & handling & gave the perfect ride height. my car is built with handling in mind & not the drag strip. these springs car still be found on Evilbay once in awhile.
