water meth injection


Thinking of getting a snows performance water meth boost cooler for my car i have a 98 gt with a svo roots blower with 10psi boost no intercooler so im looking for something to cool the charge and was doing some reading on this system and it looks good on paper, does anyone out ther use one and can give me their honest opion on it? thanks in advance Chris

My buddy has ran it on his 03 Cobra and only picked up about 3-7HP... Honestly i would wait until your car is heavily modified to see better power gains. just my twocents.gif

Somethings wrong then, running the meth kit will allow more boost/timing than with out. Makes your octane approx 116 when running 93. Also cools the intake charge.
I have it on my car, I have yet to have my car tuned but I can run 7-10* more timing with meth
kit than without. More timing = more hp on forced induction application.

Well It's like this ..... I used it on my 02 gt when it was stock with a novi 1000 rr centrifigal set at 10#'s of boost . With out meth the car dynoed @ 370 rwhp . With Meth it made 395 rwhp . So it does work , however because you have to tune for it the car becomes dependent on it . Just like a junkie .. If something goes wrong like a pump failure , clogged line , or whatever chances are the motor will get damaged . Why ?? Because the timing is advanced way beyond what it should safley be and the fuel is leaned out to dangerous levels just to burn the meth so you can make the power .. I ran out one night racing a camaro on 495 and it sounded like a bag of hammers were dropped in the engine and subsequentley destroyed a piston . In my opinion looking back on it , I should have just bought the mechanical intercooler . It is much safer and reliable .
If your looking for more power Why not a set of cams to help take advantage of the blower or a small shot of nitrous . Well this is my twocents.gif

You make some good points, i might do a set of cams and some adj timing gears as well but for the money i may as well give it a try. Whats another 400 bucks with all the money we blow on our toys. Thanks for the info ive heard good and bad things maybe it will work well for me.
