I was wondering how many of you guys with fox bodies are running a front sway bar. My car will have a manual rack, tubular k-member, tubular control arms, and front coil-overs. My new control arms do have provisions for a sway bar.
With out it your car will feel like a 72 pinto on bias ply's .. If your going to run the skinny's all the time anyway .. the swaybar is'nt going to help much anyhow . Removing it just helps weight transfer and the only time you will notice it gone is on sharp fast turns like on or off ramps and rotary's and shit like that ... I don't run mine right now cuz I'm looking for all the help i can get in the traction dept. .. I do notice the difference though .
Increase the spring rate, stiffen up the struts, and leave it at home. With the right coil overs u dont need it, unless you want to take off ramps at double the posted speed. If the nose is diving around, ur coil overs are set up wrong.
I vote to keep it on. I keep mine on while I'm not only on the street, but at the track too. I noticed that my car is much more consistant if I keep it on while at the track. There were no changes in the E.T.'s or MPH.
The sway bar acts as a sus travel limiter. U can plant the Right rear harder with it disconected. High speed nervs are due to the 3.5" Tires up front. Jack ur car up by the K, put jack stands under the car and release the drivers dog bone, whatch what ur car does, it will squat at least 2 in more!
is there only a drivers dogbone in the front of fox's? My GT had one in the rear but i took it off since i had gears and a alumium driveshaft, all mine really was, was dead weight
