Gear oil?


Hey guys can i use gear oil in my T5 tranny or use tranny fluid

DO NOT use gear oil. I prefer GM Synchromesh in my T-5.

haha i drained mine out this past weekend and wat i thought was gear oil wen it was comin out was acutly 10w30, after i smelt it and realized it wanst 80w90....needless to say i swaped the used motor oil out for some fresh valvoline ATF...rock on

I bet it was better having that in there rather than Gear Oil.

If I'm correct on this, I believe all T5-OD trannys are supposed to use ATF and all others Gear Oil... I read it in my Chiltons repair manual awhile back.. Forget which ones used the gear oil, but who cares.. LOL
