Ok guys i kno its not a mustang but i kno there's a couple guys out there that know what there talking about so i need some advice. I'm looking to put a 350, 383 or 454 engine in my 1986 camaro. I have a stock 2.8l 6 cyl engine & stock tranny in it now. What parts will i need in order to do this?? i'm going to buy all the parts & work on it myself....thanks in advance!

kmember motor mounts and a motor and trans, are you going auto or not? are you going efi or not you are obviously gonna need to upgrade fuel system..the rears suck in those car just to throw it out there
yea its not for the strip or anything, car has alotta sentimental value cuz its my first car & what not...So just k member motor mounts, the motor & trans?? its already & auto and i'm gna keep it that way. after purchasing the motor & trans what do you think it'll cost me for the fuel system & mounts?

find someone parting a v8 one and get all of your stuff you need auto will be simple yea i understand the sentimental value.... depends on how u go with fuel system and the mounts it will be relativly cheap
your going to need a new driveshaft, wiring harness. are you going carb, fuel injected. tuned port injection? if you go fuel injected a computer and harness alot of the v8 camaros from that era had 305's in them
if im thinking right devon those had a auto that was the same lenght as the v8s so i dont think he would need a new driveshaft...and the harness he wouldnt need to replace if he goes carb but if he goes efi that another project in its own
your best bet is to find a camaro on cl you can find one cheap that is a total rat strip it and build yours up. the irocs came with 305's so youll have to get a different motor if your going bigger. didnt realize the trannys were the same though so if thats true your good with yours.
motor out of any modern 1500 pickup and trans out of a 4th gen firebird or camaro will bolt right up with your car use a ls1 kmember (cheap) and even wireing and your done
