Alright so heres the deal, in august i was driving the car and the tranny slipped leaving my house, i get to the top of my street and the OD light was blinking, i went to bring the car back to the house and before i even got home the tranny was completely gone, would work in reverse but no other gears would work... so i brought it to a shop and had them put a transmission in that i had sitting around that i got in a trade, that transmission was installed and the same thing happend... i was told it wasnt the converter because i had reverse, so either was i thought maybe the dude gave me a shit trans in the deal so i went a bought new everything, new trans, new converter, had that installed in the car, and now it will go in reverse and in gear but once u put the car in gear the OD light flashes, ran a scan tool on the car and no motor codes comeback but 7 tranny codes do... i didnt drive the car cause i dont wanna smoke the new shit i just put in but where do i go from here???? bad harness? bad computer??? someone help me out, im into this thing for 1500 in the past month and it still wont move!!!
I would say its the computer. when I worked for ford I remember haveing to flash the computer and reset everything for alsost the same probliem. if the computer wont flash/reprogram it is 100% that. Also check the wires going to the trany and see it they are open and tucking any metal and shorting to grounding themselfs. if i remember and can still log in under my user name on the ford web site i will see if there are any tsb's on that probliem and what people did to fix it. feel free to drop me a line and ill try and halp u out as best as i can.
