rear ended a kia at a stop light yesterday. the light turned green, we were like 5 cars back the first cars went, he took his foot off the brake, so did i... he didnt hit the gas... tapped him at like 5 mph
his bumper was scratched already... i pushed his bumper cover up like a half inch so that the rear hatch (SUV) scrapes it a tiny bit-- the door still latches perfectly. hopefully its less than 500 in damage cz he wants to go through insurance and i would hate to be surcharged for 6 years when to make it all better all i have to do is kick down his bumper.
my chrome front bumper (f150) bent in by the license plate and then the sides kicked out so im guessing the brackets bent... bumpers not even scratched just bent. so when i got to work i seperated the plastic rivets so the painted top half of the bumper wasnt attached anymore to the chrome... hopefully it wont spider crack.
this blows... not even a year away from an 'excellent driver discount'... had a perfect driving record....

honestly that minimal damage i would have just worked out a mutual agreement. the points and insurance bs is not worth it... especially in MA. i think if the damage is less than 500 they won't even do anything depending on your deductible.
