Well what's the problem? Not a bad water pump, but if the issue can be solved then it's just a band-aid

Yea there is coolant in there, i'm not sure of the temps, it just always run's hot....it doesnt overheat or anything the dials ALWAYS chilln near the red an the fan kicks on after like 2min of being started cold. its definately not normal but the car isnt stock so thats why i figured an high flow pump would help....

It should run fine with stock parts.

#1 is the factory temp gauge is junk. Get a cheapo autometer or something and even if you have to hook it up under the hood, use that.

what's the condition of the stock radiator? Look inside. Do the tubes have white chalky buildup on them? If it's excessive, you should change the rad. I prefer 3-row copper radiators. Copper is a better thermal conductor than aluminum. Reason Aluminum is popular is due to cost and weight, but a 3-row copper will outcool a 3-core aluminum rad of similar construction. Also, what is the condition of the radiator cap? Original? Failing caps can cause pressure loss causing the temp to rise.

As for t-stat, coldest i would go is 180* and no less.

Last time you did a coolant flush? 50/50 mix? or 75% water 25% coolant?

Are the rad fins damaged?

Also, does the temp go down on the highway? Does it run warmer at a stand still?

Underdrive pulleys?

I just flushed it, i looked inside an its like somebody took chalk erasers an hit them together an it stuck everywhere.......idk why its like that, the car only has 54k on it. thats depressing. radiator cap is good!, still looking mint. so i'll definately get a new radiator...whats the best brand you suggest mike??

Yeah. That's not good. That chalk is calcium from the water used. You are supposed to use distilled water to fill a radiator for this reason. The deposits hurt flow and heat transfer. Would really need to see it myself to say 100% that it is the cause...but more than likely it is.

Best rad is hit or miss. Pep boys used to have an awesome 3-core copper rad made by a reputable manufacture for 150. I have it in my car and it works awesome, unfortunately they don't make it any more. I havent looked at radiators in some time, so unsure of the best.

Do you want stock replacement...or something aftermaket?

i just flushed/filled it up w. 50/50 peak coolant. it seems to be running only a tad over wich is surprisingly good.....i'm definately just going to order a stock radiator because all that white residue an i'll just use 50/50 mix for now.....the guy before me prolly mixed it himself. I actually use the water from my de-humidifier, is that ok? lol

No. Just go to grocery store and buy a couple gallons of distilled water from the water aisle.

I mean yeah, a dehumidifier does kinda the same thing as distilling, but you never know what is in there. Water is cheap and yup prob only need 1 or 2
