Check engine and check oil..??


Hey everyone and anyone, i have a 92 foxbody gt, 5.0 5-speed. i just put a new alternator and a couple new electrical pieces in my car.. my check engine and check oil have always flashed on aand off while i drive, now they aare ALWAAYS on.. i have plenty of oil, anyone have any advice???

take the battery off for like 10 mins... lights will go off, works in the newer cars idk bout foxes

yea, i tried that. but the computer is a little different setup then the newer styles, cuz my father said the same thing, but it stays on.. but thank you

autozone cud read the codes... maybe theyll go away after being read

autozone cant read codes on non obd2 vehicles

All you need is a paperclip and yup can read your own codes

what are the other pieces you changed? My buddy had this happen on his 90 and it turned out to be a bad ignition switch. sounds kinda like what his did constant on w/o blinking. you can pull codes with the paper clip method or invest in a obd1 reader they are cheap either way. the low oil sensor is in the side of the oil pan on the drivers side, it might be faulty but check the wires going to it.

Thanks everyone for your imput... I'm going to talk to my father, and hopefully something will work. But now my car turns over but no spark. So I think I'm going to rip the whole car apart and just re do everything... Make it a nice vehicle
