I have a 1990 5.0. With the summer months aproaching, im starting to regret removing my A/C. What would i have to do to put working A/C back into my car? Would it cost a lot?
Did you rip out everything or just the condenser, compressor and lines? If thats all you need it's really quick and easy to do. A/C isn't worth removing and now you see why. Its worth having and as long as you don't turn the a/c on when you are racing you won't lose power like many are lead to believe. The compressor spins free when its not on.
yes he is correct above me^^^^ also some people belive u lose poser cause longer belt infact true cause it does drive the crank more it isnt a dramatic power loss....yes if u have a fuly built race car it would matter cause weight savings in the heater box etc and u would use a smaller belt but for a fun driver car it is better to have... and honestly u could peice 1 together easily also so best of luck
I came to the same conclusion. I regret taking my ac out. I am putting it back in using new parts. I am up to 500 or so in parts. You don't really want to use used parts as the insides rust up if left exposed to humid air.
Rock auto.com still sells ac components made by ford.
