then I did the '01 bullitt springs, MS cater/camber plates, mms lower arms and FRPP uppers, ssbc front brakes. not in the pic FRPP lower front arms. mms strut brace & KYB AJX struts/shocks.

LOL. you didn't catch that on channel 7 news biggrin.gif. nah I had been saving up for awhile before I bought the car and stock piling during. I pretty much knew when I picked one up I wanted to my own things and it would need some work, I just needed to get a rust free example to start. I figured do it right and no regrets later or very little anyways. pretty much will be the same plan on the new motor in the future. do some research and build what i want get all the funds together and pull the trigger, nothing premature so I don't skimp. Thanks for all the positive remarks guys.

Thanks again guys for the positive remarks. hopefully going to stop by the shop during the week to check on it and grab some pics. I'm also going to stop by a local shop that does alarm/radio installs and get some prices on a Viper alarm system or a GPS type system for it.

car is in 3/4's primer now. doing some to the D/S door jamb area the going to hang the new door. stripping the hood and working low spots and the going to strip the fender next and that will be it for the body panels. start blocking the body and prepping it and rest of losse body parts ( ground effects, wing, bumpers). will update soon.

a new update from jsut over a week. We found 2 rust spots that slowed us down just a bit. They where hiding under the door jamb rubbers righ at the bend by the upper door hinge. water must like to pool here and we found it on the drivers side and sure enough when we pulled back the rubber on the pass side it was in the same spot but less severe. no biggie, some grinding, sand blasting and welding in a new piece and good as new.

you can see rusty spot I'm talking about by the upper hinge

all fixed up!

passenger side spot going to get worked on next

cleaning up rocker and straightening lower lip and fixing minor rust spot..

done..

working on D/S door, new hinge pins, seam sealer and some prep getting it ready for paint

stripped fender fixing low spots

misc. pics..

getting ready to blow color in the jambs/hatch/under hood real soon!!!

another update. progress on going. installed the drivers door and fender, worked on the lines and the upper part of the door alignment needed some work to get it nice. In the end the lines are all dead on and looking good. found litle bits of surface rust under the stock seam sealer nothing that popped through but totally hidden to it was all stripped it and taken down. new seam sealer applied and primed.

At this point now all of the body is DONE! next week going to start blocking and getting the body ready for paint and prepping the new bumpers, etc also. The end is getting ever closer yet still much to be done.

some new pics..

moulding needs a different prep so primer/paint doesn't flake off, also it's in mint condition and just needs prep for actual paint no need for primer on it. thanks for positive comments though.

Loopy I really like those wheels almost pulled the trigger on a set before I got a really good deal on my R's.

It has been awhile since the last update. The shop has been real busy and so have I with my sons graduation and some other stuff. The underside of the hatch is painted along with the jamb & rear section of the car. I spent alot of time myself cleaning every square inch of the rear panel and bumper support, priming and sanding to get it perfect. I took a couple of pic real quick and they are about 2wks old..

I just got back to it the middle of last week since they are still busy. They gave me a hand putting the hatch back on but I spent a serious amount of time getting the hatch lines prefect has they can be. The hatch sat a little low at the roof line before which I think alot of them do. I looked at a few of them during recent car show and noticed how the hatch fits the opening and went from there to improve on the factory. anyways I took it back off and made 2 stainless shims to raise it a little and opened the holes a touch so I could get a little more side/side adjustment. It now lines up just about perfect with the roof line and the sides are much better than factory and it seals up nice and tight . I have prepped all the ground effects got all the spider cracks in the paint out and inside the mustang letters .

I also test fitted the new oem bumpers to see how they would look and found out yet I need to do some more work since my anal side keeps showing through. The front cover needs a little build up on the very top and some on the sides to match up to the lines of the front fenders and for some reason on the pass side of the rear bumper where the extension bolts on I have a slight gap at the very bottom wher it starts to flare out but It's fine on the drivers side. must be something with the mold so I got to do some work and build up on that area also. I don't have any pics my son is using my camera on his trip and I haven't gotten it back yet but I will get some up asap. just wanted to keep the thread alive and let everyone who is following along know it's still ongoing. I'm jsut taking my time and making sure every square inch is touched, fixed and ready and getting all the lines near perfect. more updates soon.

I finished the ground effects up and they sprayed them. I decided not to use the new oem rear bumper I bought ( it's 4 sale in the classifieds ) and I'm going to redo the stock oem bumper from my car. I can get it to work but I don't want to rework a new oem bumper when I know the old one fits perfect. I took a shot and didn't want to spend the added labor of stripping the old one but I'm going to. The front I pretty much new I would have to build up the front edges a little since the old stock one didn't fit perfect anyway. They started blocking down the body and getting that ready in between jobs. next is going to be to pull the hood, remove all the seam sealer like we did for the hatch, clean the underside and paint it. finish prepping the body, I'll get the bumpers done and get this damn thing into paint soon! I'm still hoping for some summer drives in it biggrin.gif

couple of pics

Got the rear bumper stripped down for the most part need to get the paint out of the embossed mustang letters. I also started to sand down the primer on the skirts to get them ready for paint. going to start on the under side of the hood next week. 1 guy is out on vaca and the shop is loaded with work so I'll be up there working on it alot to get it out the door buy the end of the month...hopefully. I'll never really bitch though for how long it's taking considering what my buddy is charging me and how detailed of a job we are doing.

some recent pics..

I posted that I made some shims for the hatch so I could improve the alignment of the lines and get some adjustment side to side. I was able to get it pretty flush with the roof and even it out on the sides

underside of the hood stripped, sealed and painted.

I elongated the holes for the fog lights since there really isn't any side to side adjustment. The d/s fog light wasn't centered in the hole of the bumper now I can adjust them to get them even looking.

We painted the top section of the engine bay and let the overspray fall down inside. I'm doing this for now to hold me over for few years until I do my motor build then I'll finish the engine bay then. It will be 90% done until that day comes biggrin.gif

That's it for now will post up more when I get more done
