275/40/17 is the best size

Could prob do that out back on a fox..but would be tough on the front wheels on a fox...esp a pre-91...but it can be done

You can squeeze a 245/45/17 on a 9" rim. Have seen it done. How much it rubs depends on rim offset and BS

well i was thinking in the future i want wider wheels out back and the rear rims are 16x8 like brand new the fronts are peeling slightly move my rears to the front will a 245/50/16 tire rub on the front then i will put the 17x9 in the rear

Not all tires are the same. Goodyear and BFG runs wide compared to a Nitto of the same size. A 275/40/17 is about 1/2" wider than the a Nitto 275/40/17. Just something to keep in mind so fi you are tight on space maybe a Nitto or narrower brand would be a good choice. Up front a 245 should fit fine. You can fit a 285 or a 295 on a 9" rim if you need to, but I don't think you will see any difference in the contact patch over a 275.
