Running rough???

So I just bought a 1990 gt and im having an issue.. its got some parts in it..It has a cam, not sure what..1.7 roller rockers,32lb injectors, holley upper and lower intake, the heads are replaced, not sure what kind..electric water pump and fan, 4.10 gears, king cobra clutch, subframe connectors..70mm throttle body..flows and thats bout it..now i bought if off a guy who says he didnt do anything to it, and he bought it off some guy who only put the 5 speed trans in..it was running fine for him..i listened to it before i bought it and didnt think it was much of a problem, but when i registered it and got it on the road, i took it for a drive and it just has no power..when i start it up the idle surges up and down..and it smells like its running rich..however could it be a vacuum problem or does anyone have any ideas..

if your idle is serging id check out your iac (idle air control valve) that might need to be cleaned or maybe your tps(throttle positioning sensor)

Are you sure they are 32# inj. If they are then they are to big for your engine set up . With heads , cam and intake on a 5.0 .... 24's would work better . Make sure the meter is matched to your injectors. Depending on what brand meter .... It will either be a color code ..or it will be marked as to what injector size it is calibrated for .

Check to make sure the PCV is secure in the back of the manifold . Seen them pop out when the PCV's seal gets old .

If the MIL is on .. It could be an o2 sensor .

Try cleaning the I.A.C. as well as cleaning the mass air meter with ..Mass Air meter cleaner .

Could also have an intake leak at the base of the manifold .

Timing could be off . So many things it could be ...

1st thing to do...run the codes.

Even if the CEL isn't on, vital codes could be stored.

I wouldn't spend a dime on any replacement parts until you have come code numbers to go by.
