well i have 3 arctic cat snowmobiles that haven't been started in 2 or 3 years. one is a 440 and 2 550's. i know the 550s are doubles and im not sure but i think the 440 is a single. anyway im thinking that the carbs need to be cleaned and even if that isn't the porblem they could probably use it. my question is has anyone done so and how difficult is it? i would like to do it myself but i've never messed with one before. snow is right around the cornor so nows the time. thanks in advance for any help
research it on the net first see if you can find a repair manual for the sled or the carbs i would recomend before messing or opening up the carbs is to see what a rebuild kit will cost or even if you can get or find one. these carbs are not like ones on a car they are simple if you have and mechanical experiance or knowledge
also look to see what jets are in it and you might look to see if putting a bigger jet in it to make it go faster

Its very easy pull the carbs off take the bowls off pull the pilot and the main jet put them up to the light to see if you can see threw them i just run a small piece of wire threw the jets clean all the tarnish shit from old gas off the floats so they dont stick put it all back together very simple the jets only fit one way so you cant mix the pilot and the main up you dont need a rebuild kit and i wouldnt change the jetting if it ran fine and your running a stock pipe.
