Tune

Now that I'm back from Vegas I reallllly need to get this car tuned. Where is the best place? I'm going to need a full dyno tune and a new computer :| If you choose "other" please let me know the name of the place and a contact number. Thanks.

I have never had my car tuned, but from other people I have always heard good things about Dez. I talked to them was I was supposed to be putting the procharger on my car and they were very informative and helpful. If your willing to put in time and effort you could always do it yourself too.

Performance Dyno in NH if you want it to done right the first time. Best tuner around by far. If you want to travel you could try Jon Lund in PA or Sal @ PSP in Long Island, they have great reputations, but I don't have any first hand experience with them.

Dez is a mediocre tuner who can probably get you waht you want out of the car. I think his communication skills are pretty poor though. You ask him to call you and he will just email you. He also isn't really up on the way tuners currently do their cars. For example my buddy with his turbo cobra called him up for a tune and Dez actually wanted him to run it in a suck thru MAF setup! That is what you did 5-10 years ago. Now anyone worth the money will tell you that blow thru is the way to go with a turbo or blower car.

My buddy also kept asking for a phone call and Dez just wouldn't do it.

I have delt with 3 different tuners in the past ... Dez , Mpe , and Mike freedman . I'll just say I prefer Dez . Sure there is a multitude of tuners out there ... all of which are capable of tuning a car . For me though it was the guy who had a reasonable price , new exactly what you wanted , and backed up what they did .
I have never had a problem comunicating with Dez and found him to be very helpful . If you spend money in his shop and act cool with him ... the guy will help you with anything . If you call up and want the guy to drop everything and he doesn't know you , or your trying to tell him his job then well... good luck !
The guy knows his shit ! Manny Buginga hired him to tune his turbo car . He has been in multiple muscle mustangs magazines and Rick Anderson has had him dyno new experimental parts to find out what the parts are capable of . Not to mention the guy is freinds with alot of the top mustang racers across the country. So his experience and knowledge is paramount as far as I'm concerned .
But in the end it's the experience that you have that makes the difference of who you will prefer . I've heard more good than bad though when it comes to Mike Dez . I guess you can't please everyone ! Good luck with who ever you choose ....
